Pursuit Of Opportunity: International Conference, 2018 by Business Today
I got to know about this from the Rethink Foundation sub-reddit. Business today is an American non-profit organization led by students to encourage student entrepreneurship by bridging the gap between students and business executives via well curated articles and conferences held. As part of their drive to empower students, they orgnize an International Conference_ _where several influential people from different walks of life unite and share their words of wisdom with tomorrow’s leaders. They provided an opportunity for students to apply to join the conference, and a writing competition on the topic “Future of Work”. Seizing the opportunity, I applied for the same. General application for the conference involved filling a very detailed form asking questions such as who were my role model business executives, what questions would I ask a particular influencer, my thoughts about a particular trend in the industry and so on. With several more requirements such as resume and professional profile links for credibility, I was convinced that my chances were quite slim making through this. Almost a month later my gut feeling was confirmed with a polite rejection mail from the organizing committee. I also tried for the writing competition, result of which is not out yet (if there is no follow up to this article it means I did not get through). “The future of Work” wanted to see our views on how technology will affect the business sector, and how one can wield the power to adjust to the changes without extreme damage. I tried my best, and after getting it evaluated by my friend Adrian, I sent it. If interested, you can read it by clicking here.
